Who's up to see Kiss of the Dragon when it comes out??

Post by plucky duck »

What do you guys/gals think of the movie from its advertisement? Kinda what you'd expected from Jet Li?

I would like to go see if, but prolly after hearing a few who've actually watched it. I actually prefer Jackie over Jet Li. Jackie has a bit of comedy string to it while Jet's movies are mostly serious. Don't you think?

Then I'm going to see Final Fantasy!

Well, I wanted to see KOtD when I saw Jet Li was in it. Then... I heard Luc Besson was invovled. I really wanted to see it then. Lastly, I found out that Besson teamed up with the same guy who he wrote The Fifth Element with to write this movie.

Now I have to see it. This movie is gonna ROCK.

Luc Besson directs this movie? I'll be there. Anyway Jet Li is fun to watch so I was going to eventually anyway. He doesn't have Jackie Chan's enjoyable personality but more serious is ok too. Romeo Must Die I thought was real cool.

Besson did not direct it. He is one of the producers and writers, though. He also hired the same director of photography that he used in The Fifth Element. So I hear it looks a lot like he directed it, but he was more behind the scenes pulling stuff together.

At the risk of sounding very ignorant here, who is Luc Besson?

As that link shows Luc Besson's first claim to fame was "La Femme Nikita" and even more so with "The Professional" and cemented his place with "The Fifth Element". "multiiii pass!" remember LeeLoo :D

What was weird about 5th Element is that it only grossed just over 63mil here but did an additional 200mil overseas. It was a bigger hit on video and dvd though. Most of Bruce Willis's films have done better overseas. http://www.boxofficemojo.com/brucewillis.html

Ahhh, gotcha. I liked those flicks, just never took notice of the director.

And as Tunis said, :up :up for KotD. Much better than Romeo Must Die to say the least.
