I have just read The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Rings and am starting The Two Towers. I just hope they don't dumb down the movie for those that have not read the books.

Well I didn't even waste my time with D&D. The trailer made it look good, but the actors they chose told me different. I'm tired of all these comedy releif flics. I want more movies with deep storylines and characters, and hopefully LOTR will do that.

So far it looks like the director and the producers are making the movie with the seriousness the topic and source material require. So far. I too am one of the many who truly hope that the movie does credit to the book that literally started off the fantasy genre. As the movie I am most looking forward to this year, it will be a huge letdown if it turns out like D&D. I think many theaters will get the torch if it does.

I must say, this is *probably* suck, cause fans and people that read the books have such high hopes and expectations. Hopefully they can make pretty good so not everyone will say it sucked/bombed, etc.

Is D&D cr@p then?

What did you all think of First Knight? And that dragon one with Sean Connery as the voice of the dragon?
I loked that, made me laugh?

I am gonna start a thread on this all now!

Woohoooo
A little crazy, but safe enough

Yup. In its purest form.

First Knight wasn't bad. Could have been better, but not bad. Same with Dragonheart. It could have been _very_ cool, but they kidified (yep, kidified, I make my own words :D ) it way too much, in order to get the PG13 rating.

Speaking of Dragonheart, I had to check the back of the box to see if I was watching a Disney movie. :D

Actually, it is coming out this Christmas if I am not mistaken. The two following movies are scheduled to be release each following Christmas after that.
