However, heavy metal band Disturbed has managed to come close with their cover of “The Sound of Silence.” “The Sound of Silence” was originally written by Paul Simon and released by Simon & Garfunkel in 1964

The song features the famous opening lines, “Hello Darkness, my old friend/I’ve come to talk with you again.”
