Man of Steel

Wow.... just.... wow.

Never bothered seeing it in the theater. Rented it from Netflix and watched it tonight and was just blown...a...way.

I was expecting another lame super hero movie, like we've seen so many of lately, with the same tired origin story that we've been told ad nauseam.

Boy was I in for a surprise! It had a deep plot, a complete twist to the origin story, a whole new way of presenting the end of Krypton, and what Superman's purpose is on Earth. Oh, and THIS Superman's father KICKS ASS.

On the flip side there was a hell of a lot more collateral damage and loss of life than is usually tolerated in a Superman movie, and there are some out-and-out absurdities in the plot, but it was all easily overlooked because it was a solid 2-1/2 hours of action packed fun.

I haven't seen it yet either. It's odd that none of my geekier friends ever mentioned much about it.
