Anyone see War of the Worlds?
I haven't see it yet, but from what I've been hearing, it's not that great of a movie, which is a shame considering it's a Speilberg film. Anyone see it yet care to comment?

Haven't cared for how cruise has been lately. Mainly the way he's pushing scientology. That aside..
Saw the movie today at a packed house and thought it was very good. One you do need to see on the big screen to get in the scope of the (I ain't giving it away).
Copies some from ID4 and if you edit out will smith from Id4, it would be the better more satisfying movie, imo. Actually I still think ID4 was more satisfying and a bigger scope.
This has a bit more horror elements. Has some good original ideas too.
Not a dissappointment at all though. But I'd rank Revenge of the Sith still best this year. King Kong may top them all. The preview, same one linked in Cheers, looked even more awesome on the big screen.
Worlds....just needed a bit more of what was there, me thinks.

Saw it tonight with the wife, and we both enjoyed it. The acting was excellent, and it did keep you on your seat. Parts of the movie reminded me of Jurassic Park - when the kids where stuck in the car. You were glued to the seat. Special effects were also excellent. Seems like Spielberg kept to the book on this one without deviating much.
This is a must see on a big screen, or you lose the intensity of the story and special effects.

finally saw this last nite at home....very enjoyable...kids were yelling at the scary parts...what I really liked was the "ground level" effect....not scientists in a lab trying to figure stuff out but people running like heck to try and not get vaporized.....lots of nice sequences...Spielberg still has his touch
