Kill Bill

Post by blade »

Anyone looking forward to this move? "The 4th movie from Tarantino", as they want to be sure you know.

The premise looked super cool. A pregnant Uma is shot at the alter and left for dead, or so they thought, then awakens from a coma years later wanting revenge. And she appears to be an expert in martial arts and using swords. It has decent stars and even David Carradine as Bill, he of Kung Fu fame. And Uma as the hell bent for revenge wench. It was meant as one movie. Then, Tarantino refused to cut anymore off his 3 hour cut.

So the producers and he decided to cut the movie in half and release it as 2 movies. Volume 1 starts Friday, Volume 2 in February. So now we have 2 90 minute movies. And that to me, just plain sux. Comes across more as greed than anything. Titanic was over 3 hours, as has many movies. So now they expect us to pay twice for one movie? And they wonder why some resort to getting pirated movies. :;

And of course each half will be released as a single DVD, and perhaps a super DX edition with them together (ie, more moola). - From tarantino

Still, it does sound like a darn cool flick.

Tarantine wants to do a prequel if this makes any money. Now they have two chances to make moola.

the ONLY tarantino movie i like was reservoire dogs... pulp fiction was a pos imo
then again i also don't like tarantino himself... he somehow is very annoying to me

however, kill bill seems very promising and definitely worth a shot at the theater

I saw some clips on tv the other night - looked cool, I hate producers/director sqabbles though - what a maroon to have it in two parts :(

Judging by "first impressions" I hope they consider her for a part in Dusk to Dawn IV ;)

Tarantino is arrogant and is convinced he is the coolest around. I think he's still stuck in a 70's time warp.

But, he scripted/wrote 2 fantastic movies in From Dusk Till Dawn and True Romance. If you haven't seen True Romance, it IS a must! It's no 'romance'. It's plain bad ass. Christopher Walken has one very memorable extended scene. Didn't care that much for resovoir dogs. It was ok.

I enjoyed most of Pulp Fiction, but couldn't watch all of Jackie Brown. Too boring.

Saw Kill Bill. Before I get to that, one movie you guys should see is The Hunted. The one with Christopher Lambert. That is another excellent and somehow very underrated samurai/ninja movie. It's done very well and has a extended violent train scene that no doubt helped to inspire some scenes in Kill Bill. Kill Bill even stole some music from The Hunted. Has me in the mood to see it again.

Now, it still bugs me they cut this movie in two. After watching it, it seemed incomplete, obviously. Several scenes in the preview was not in the movie at all. Left open too much so of course now you'll want to see part 2. Even makes you want the prequel to see how they all started and what they did.

But I liked it. A lot actually. And I wanna see it again. :d Starts off rather weird and slow, but kicks butt the last half. Some very cool scenes and surprises.

*************

Potential Spoilers Below!

****************

Look No further. :D

Go Go steals the show. It was a total riot watching that schoolgirl and her actions. :D

Didn't care much for that anime part. That should have been live action instead. Though the movie is more like a cartoon. And during the big fight scene, everything goes black and white, no color. wtf! That added zero and shouldn't have been done. Then later a couple beeps when uma's name was mentioned. :;

*now I learn the reason for the black and white bs is to help tone down the gore. It will be in all color in Japan, "because they can take the gore better". :mad

Used 450 gallons of fake blood. Most of which was too silly.

Had a surprise flashback to a character in from dusk till dawn. :) Thought for a second it was going to be that old store too.

Captured these screens from the online preview:

I want a large wallpaper of a pic similar to the one below, but where Uma faces the camera surrounded by all the assasins. That was plain cool and would make a great wallpaper! Anyone find it, puleease post it. :)

Even one with Uma and Go Go fighting as above would be nice to have.

Nope, just 4. He's written, produced etc. others. Here's all he has done:
http://movies.go.com/filmography/Filmog ... _id=353435

All he's done hasn't turned to gold. And he is a poor over-actor. Though he did ok in Dusk. Mainly because he didn't say much. :D

i went to the theaters yesterday to see it... and let me tell you i dont go the the theaters... last 2 movies i saw in the theater was super mario brothers and Knockin on Heavans Door. but i must say i loved this movie! Go see it.

And about that black and white shit... its GORE and thats what its supposed to frigging be.. thats the damn problem.. we can handel the gore!!! why? cause pussy ass hats like this do shit like this and we arent accustomed to it. MORE gore in the news! i want to see people get shot and DIE!!! thats what this country is missing and why it so screwed up. people dont see poeple die for real so thats why they kill people.. they never seen it and dont think its that bad.

Sorry for the rant... but the movie does kick ass. The blood reminded me some what of Evil Undead 2

I really liked it. The beginning throws you into the movie and the end definitly leaves to wanting the second half. As for the black & white scene--I didn't mind it. I think it's stupid that the only reason it's in black & white is because of the "gore" considering that this movie, although violent, isn't 'realistically' violent---it's artsy. If you want real lookin' gore, go watch black halk down or SPR...somethin' along those lines.

Anyway, I thought it was good. Just what I expected. The flick had so many different 'moods' but they all worked. Same with the music...I would have never thought of picking the music he picked, but all the tunes worked perfectly, imo. As much as I liked it, I don't find it as a flick I'd want to see again for a while...but most of Tarantino's movies are that way to me.

its a live action anime, the violence is fake as hell but thats how animes are...

i hate tarantino but i liked this movie.

ive seen it twice, will i see it again, perhaps but i wont pay for it.

again, i hate tarantino.

hes a prick and annoying.

i also though that it was lame how she kept holding the sword like it was a baseball bat....

oh and i hate tarantino.

I saw the movie twice, and loved it. And, personally, I rather enjoyed the anime part of the movie--one of the more memorable parts IMO. The music was kick ass, and the song that plays when the sword maker is talking to Uma--the song w/ the wooden flute--is fantasic.

i like Tarantino, though I wouldn't classify this as a typical Tarantino film. Though, I would say that the movie/editing does feel very much like some of his previous films.

I don't mind that there's going to be a sequal too much, I could imagine after 2-2 1/2 hours of fighting sort of getting nummed out on the rush I got from the movie, and I'm sure the end deserves the same appreciation that I felt for the rest of the movie.

That is gay about the black and white, but i didn't know it was for gore, I thought it was just a cinimatography(sp?) thing.

Oh, and Uren....SO HOT!!! Jesus christ, what I wouldn't do to her. I thought Lucy Lui did a fantastic job portraying her. I liked her character the best. you really felt for her after the anime scene--and I really liked how she appologized to Uma for speaking down to her (really showed that she had honor and respected her enemy, as samurai's really did).

Great movie, would see it again. Buy it? Dont' know--perhaps if there's another way of getting it :E
