I have checked out every DVD and VHS the local library has. I have seen everything blockbuster carries.
It has almost become an obsession.
I bought the following on DVD:
Tora, Tora, Tora
U-571
Das Boot
Saving Private Ryan
Pearl Harbor
Patton
I want to find "The Longest Day" in color on DVD.
Any suggestions on other DVDs to purchase?
I have been on a WWII movie kick lately....

Any WW2 list is not complete without the immortal :
"The Great Escape",
The Guns of Navarone
and Midway!

I've got "Midway" on VHS, but would like to have it on DVD. I've seen "The Guns of Navarone". Great flick.
Has anyone seen "Operation Crossbow", Damn Sophia Loren was hot!
"When Trumpets Fade" is another good one.
More that are in my WWII DVD list I forgot to add:
The Dirty Dozen
Enemy at the Gates
Thanks for the suggestions blade.

anybody here seen Patton? I watched it at school and it was surprisingly a great movie. Patton was a pimp *& Most casualties on enemy solders than any other army during WW2. I've also watched midway in the same class, though the acting was pretty horrible (same goes with Tora Tora Tora which I also own on DVD) it was still a decent flick.
I've never finished Das Boot, but what I saw was awsome. One of the best submarine movies (Red October was great too, although not set during WW2 if I remember correctly)

Patton is one the the very best of all time, imo. Along with The Great Escape, Midway and The Guns of Navarone I thgink those 4 are the best WWII movies. Das boot was good from the German's side and I like U571 more each time I see it. Red October is awesome but it's set during the last years of the so called cold war, late 80's.
There's another one about building a bridge starring Obey won Kenobey, Alec Guinness but I can't think of the name. It's a great movie also. doh! It's "The Bridge on the River Kwai"
Another even is The Sound of Music. It's set in that time period and is a true story.

I bought "A Bridge Too Far" and "The Great Escape" on DVD today with some birthday money. Both are great flicks.
I rented "The Bridge on the River Kwai" once, but havn't seen it locally. Guess i'll have to start buying off the net.
My grandmother bought me a 6 DVD set documentary, detailing the events of WWII. Very cool.
