Man who gave away winning $10 million lottery ticket wants it back

http://www.charlotte.com/topnews/pub/lotto.htm

MOBILE, Ala. (AP) -- Edward Seward Jr. became known as the "$10 million tipper" after he gave a Waffle House waitress a Florida lottery ticket, unaware of its worth. Now he wants it back.

Seward is seeking to revoke his gift because a purported share-the-winnings agreement among five Waffle House co-workers was broken by the lone waitress, his attorney told a judge Friday.

Seward's attorney, Stephen E. Clements, said Seward believed waitress Tonda Dickerson would share any winnings with four co-workers at the Grand Bay restaurant he often visited.

When he would stop by the short-order restaurant for morning coffee, he often would give away lottery tickets that he bought in Florida. The ticket he gave Dickerson in an envelope on March 7, 1999, had the winning numbers and was worth $10 million over 30 years.

Dickerson refused to share the winnings, and now Seward wants the winning ticket returned, alleging fraud. Dickerson in a court document denied any fraud was committed.

the movie was different

in the movie, it was the man's wife who bought the ticket. They didnt have enough money to tip or whatever, so they offered half of their winnings if they won to the waitress. The waitress said "yeah, whatever." The couple won the lottery, and the man wanted to give the waitress her share. Of course, the wife doesn't agree, and the two start arguing, and the bitch in her comes out. They get a divorce and there's this whole legal battle over the ticket. The man and the waitress fall in love in the mean time.

I dont quite remember the ending...so I'd rather shut my mouth and not spoil it (like i haven't already) :)
