I don't think the dystopian AI future we are heading towards is the one where we teach too many words to the word guessing program, and then it wakes up and turns us into paper clips. I think that's like worrying that if we keep training our horses to run faster and faster, eventually one of our mares is going to give birth to a locomotive.

I do think we are heading for something quite dystopian.

You cannot comprehend how much money AI firms are losing.

I think when the AI crash comes, it's going to make 2008 look like the best year of your life.

A crash? I hope so. Everyone is getting on the bandwagon for AI. The only AI I use is ChatGPT. I use it about once a week to confirm the google AI is the same with the question I would ask. Also, I want it to crash so hardware prices, especially RAM comes back down to earth.

Eh, computer hardware prices might be the least of your worries on the next big "crash".

When we're scrounging through the ruins of civilization, looking for the last few cans of food, we can all keep warm in the AI data centers, which will still be running on their mini nukes.
