You could power it with a can of freon (yes, we helped destroy the ozone layer) or they sold an adapter to power it from a compressor, as in the video.
Four of us drove over to buy them directly from the manufacturer, located in Miami, sometime in the early 80s. Before the paint ball craze became a thing, we would play 2 vs 2 in the woods in full camo with these (we were on the honor system on taking a hit). Eye protection mandatory, and even so, on a hot day, with a warm can of freon, the pressure was high enough to break skin and in one case, cracked eye goggles. You think a cold paintball hurts?
