Some are star bits and allen head we had them for a while now . we can't remember if they are or not . there that gray black look of impact sockets .we just don't want to fine out the hard way .were getting into a project were we will be needing to use them .

In my experience regular sockets are chrome in color, and impact are dark steel.
Christians warn us about the anti-christ for 2,000 years, and when he shows up, they buy a bible from him.

I've been told the same thing the Penguin said.

I mean you could use a regular chrome one... don't expect it to survive. I would use 6 point if possible. Worst that happens is the socket explodes so be aware of that.
I have done it a few times off roading... and I have blown up a socket but I was expecting it. Hell I blew up a 32mm socket on a breaker bar (was using torque multiplier). So make sure you have protection if your going to try it.
