There are areas around Chernobyl where soil is heavily contaminated, and normally you're not allowed to drive a vehicle anywhere that hasn't been decontaminated, to avoid kicking up radioactive dust.
There's radiation sensors scattered around the vicinity of Chernobyl that monitor the radiation levels, and they're spiking in several areas due, presumably, to Russian military equipment driving around and kicking up irradiated dust. It's likely the Russians are not interested in Chernobyl itself, but the facility is on a major route the Russians would need to use to drive their equipment into the country, and since there is (was) a large Ukranian military base at Chernobyl to guard it, the Russians took them out so as not to worry about attacks on their flanks.

Christians warn us about the anti-christ for 2,000 years, and when he shows up, they buy a bible from him.
