Its just an upside down fish tank...
If you have a pool you can do this with a clear airtight tote. Put it under water and fill it completely then turn it upside down and slowly lift it up. as long as you keep air from entering from the sides the water will stay in the tote even above the water line. That's the trick. Inside that thing there is negative water pressure.
Same thing when you fill a straw then cover the top with your finger and pull it out.
