Yet another great Smarter Every Day episode.

Christians warn us about the anti-christ for 2,000 years, and when he shows up, they buy a bible from him.

I Asked An Actual Apollo Engineer to Explain the Saturn 5 Rocket - Smarter Every Day 280

Long overdue follow up. He explains in detail how each stage and engine works. Honestly, there are so many little things they had to account for, it's amazing it worked at all. Like the cables between the stages not only had mechanical disconnects, but a backup guillotine to sever the cables in case the disconnect failed.

Another one that blew me away is that the special nickel alloy invented for the main engine combustion chamber was necessary because any iron based metal would instantly rust when exposed to the thousands of tons of pure oxygen passing through it.

Pretty amazing how far we have come from the 60's with technology, considering the very first flight was back in 1903! When we landed on the moon in 1969, my grandfather at the time did not believe it was even possible and thought it was fake. He was born in 1906.
