Haven't played TF2 in a while. Can you have private groups or servers for that one?

You can have your own Servers for TF2 and can set passwords. I think all you need to do is install the server software under the Tools Tab on steam. It's been a while since I've attempted any online competitive gaming.

I don't know if you can rent dedicated servers anymore. I used to help run one for Medal of Honor: AA. That was a blast back in the day.

I've seen there's still a lot of different servers out there you can rent. They fire one up in a minute, with the game you want.
It'd be nice to get a few of us there to play a little. Have some laughs.

Man VS Machine is a blast to play with friends. Valve sells tickets for drops and achievements if you complete all the waves but they aren't required.

Server is setup for Mann vs Machine. Re-Installing TF2 to try it out. I'll probably leave it as a public server and password it when we're playing. That's what I do with my KF2 server.

Okay seems to be working but can't actually play without someone else. Waiting for more players. So if someone wants to try it out with me, give me a holler. I'm FlyingPenguinOFC on Steam.

To manually connect to the server, go to Settings -> Keyboard -> Advanced and enable the developer console.

Bring down the console with the tilde key, and type:

connect 108.61.236.162:27015

The game should offer to put the server in you favorites (don't remember if it does that right after connecting or when you disconnect). After that you can use the server browser to connect: Find Game -> Community Servers -> Favorites tab
