Wow!
Hey, I'm not going to knock capitalism but that's a bit crazy. If I bought all that for $3ea and I could sell it for $6 then I'd be happy doubling my money plus some shipping cash but 30, 40 or 50 a bottle is insane and people paid it.

Even though they donated it, I hope they still nail them to the wall.

Nail them to the wall for what exactly? What specific law did they break?

There ARE states with laws concerning price gauging, and Tennessee is one.

It's not like these guys charged a little more to make a profit. When you're charging $70 a bottle for hand sanitizer during an emergency, you are being a crook.
After the brothers made headlines, news outlets reported that investigators with the Tennessee attorney general’s office ordered the Colvins to end any profiteering strategies. The state, which has had laws against price gouging, is investigating the case.

“I just want to make clear that donating the sanitizers does not mean they are off the hook legally," Samantha Fisher, a spokesperson for the office, told WRCB. "If evidence establishes they engaged in price gouging we will seek appropriate penalties.”

So your position is equivalent to: "He robbed someone and got away with it, but it's not okay when I rob someone? How is that fair?"

Of course what that company did is wrong. Morally at the very least, and criminally if there's anyone left in the federal justice department and congress that cares. It's price gouging as well IMO.

How does that have anything to do with two guys on Amazon selling $2 sanitizer for $70?

Are you saying price gouging is okay? Is it ok for a gas station to charge 10 times as much for gasoline after a hurricane, even though the station is paying the same price for it from the refinery as before?

Here's my take:

If they bought bottles for $3 and they placed them on Amazon for $70 then it's wrong on their part and the buyer is dumb.
If they placed them on Ebay for $6 opening bid and the public drove the price up to $70, then it's the public's fault for being dumb enough to pay it but I would not fault the sellers.

Either way, they'll get grief for both scenarios.

Just sell them for $6 flat rate and you'll make money while not being complete D-Bags

Well that is how supply and demand work. If there was no demand then nobody would pay 70 for it or 10 times as much for gas... but when you need it and nobody else has it what are you going to do? I agree they were all ass hats for doing it but unfortunately that's how capitalism works... hell its what the stock market is based on... stupid people paying more for stuff that other people paid less for.
