I was at my allergist's office the morning after the Iranian missiles hit our air base in Iraq, and a new doctor introduced himself and asked me if I'd seen the video of one of our nuclear missile sub crossing the Panama Canal that morning on the way to the the Middle East. It looks like maybe we're going to war.

Well I read the news all day, and there was nothing about that on any of the news outlets that morning, so I asked him where he got that info and he said via his Facebook news feed.

A quick Google search showed that the last time a missile sub crossed the canal, was 2017. Here's the video:

Sure enough it's the same video I found when I searched Facebook for anything on a sub crossing the canal. All the posts on Facebook were dated starting Jan 6th and implied that the sub crossed that day. Here's an example: https://www.facebook.com/Djraul18/video ... 437978001/
There's dozens - maybe hundreds of posts, all of the same video on Jan 6th and 7th claiming it was happening that day.

And here's the problem in a nut shell. Idiots are using Facebook as a news source. This doctor wasn't young either - he was my age.

We're breading a generation of dumb sheep.

agree if it on facebook it has to be true ! so much old and wrong info is passed on facebook .and many beleave it to be true !

So if it's on Facebook, it's not necessarily true?

It's sad that among most of my Facebook Friends, I've had to unfollow them because they post so much crap. It's also amazing how many racists still have Facebook pages. Of course, everything is weighed against ad revenue.

I still don't understand why Zuckerberg didn't sell Facebook years ago and wash his hands of the whole mess. I wouldn't want to be constantly answering to Congress.
