"John has had a hard time finding comfort of almost any kind. At my request, we called in Hospice a few weeks ago and that's helping some. We did that while waiting for his medical oncologist to get back from vacation, which he did yesterday (7/5).
John is currently scheduled for chemo on Tuesday (7/9). Given his physical condition (he's lost more weight and isn't eating or drinking much, and is weak), the Dr. said it could be done, but he wouldn't recommend it. John will be deciding what he wants to do over the weekend. I'll keep you posted."

I haven't seen any new posts on his FBk page, so I don't know what to think right now,,, just praying things have stabilized a bit,,,

I was glad to see a post from John today: -

"He everybody, went through a bad stretch for a while but feeling a litlle better. now under the care of hospice which has been a big help, with getting my meds straighted out and providing some mu ch needed counseling. Getting used to the ideas of dying and how I want to spend the rest of my days is pretty challenging stuff. Good to hear from him, but sad to hear it's down to hospice. Basically preparing for the end with as much comfort and dignity as possible. Hopefully they have him on home hospice.

like FP said glad hear from John. sad news do . its never easy on the family or friends just hope he keep comfortable and at home with friends and family . it reminds me of my writing habits as I read his post . you can tell its taken a hard toll on John. prayers for him and his family . thank you darcy for keep us all informed !

I do believe hospice is at home, FP, because his wife posted 7/6 that, "we called in Hospice a few weeks ago ***".
