I'd say coming up on 5 years. I would have retired it, but I ended up reupholstering it about 6 months ago instead (not sure it was worth the amount of time it took, but I used some high end vinyl).

Hell... mine was built before I was born. I should get it reupholstered and repainted and find some nice new wheels for it... then it should last another 50 years.
It was given to me by my old neighbor. And he got it form one of the offices in the steel mill.

Heh. Up until last year I was using my father in-law's former executive chair which was probably 25 years old. Very comfortable, but the cushions finally wore out and it started looking badly scuffed.
I picked up a nice leather executive chair at Sam's Club for around $150. Nice chair that would probably sell for $250 at Office Depot.
I live in my computer chair, so it has to be comfortable.

Mine is a plain office chair with no arms. If I had to guess it's near 10 years old..

Replaced mine last year, the old supposedly "ergo" chair was killing my back, the new managers chair is much more comfortable. I hear you should replace them every 5 yrs or so anyway, depends on how much you use them...
