He started playing piano and composing at age 5 and started playing guitar at age 10. At 14 he was playing Jazz, by 16 won an award for outstanding Jazz soloist on guitar, and at 19 became a session guitarist. He is from Chicago and has a B.A. in Music Theory and Composition from Northeastern Illinois University.

I've met Michael several times and he's not only an incredible guitarist, but a great guy to party with as well. He's extremely generous with his knowledge.

I've seen and have videos of guitarist using double neck guitars dating from the early 70's but the necks were one over the other, not going in different directions like that one.

Saw that years ago, but even today it's still unusual. The hair style gives away the vintage of the video. He designed a quad a couple of years ago.

You need to be somewhat ambidextrous to play his guitars, tho'.

A rather unique guitarist I still enjoy is Stanley Jordan. He has a different tuning so he can play his fretboard like a piano. When I first heard him on Letterman's NBC show back in '84, I could swear I heard three guitars when I closed my eyes...and he was playing solo
