Mike, try some Advil. They really helped me when had a bad sunburn a couple months ago. Next time remember the sunscreen! For temporary relief, there's always a nice cold bath. You don't have any blisters do you?

A cool bath with some vinegar in it will help. Or I have heard of a mixture of vinegar and water in a spray bottle give relief as well...just does not do much for how you smell though.

Aloe, or the vinegar & water thing (just don't do it around red necks or they might think your a pickled pigs foot and try to eat you)

It's called Sunblocker and one should always use it BEFORE being out in sunlight for periods of time. Sure, not macho and no, you won't get that (cough) "healthy looking" glow called a tan BUT sunburn can and does cause skin cancer and it's more common than what most people think. There are many TV health shows on the topic but you can google it too if one wants to know more.
A friend of my wife, who's now 50 was recently diagnosed with skin cancer on her head near her hairline. Her doctor said that it was probably caused by sunburn when she was much younger. It now has to be removed with additional treatments and it might spread.
For the future, try to avoid getting sunburns.
