Anyone own a MP3 player?

Just wondering... I didn't think about buying one until recently, then I bought this model:
Samsung YP-MT6X 512 MB Digital Audio Player
I knew I didn't want an Ipod or a mini Ipod or an Ipod shuffle - but I wanted something that had a screen and enough room for four or five cd's worth of Mp3's. I wanted something that took batteries that I could replace, and not have to pay Apple for the honor of it... I also didn't want to pay an arm and a leg...
Tweaking the sound and it's great, but the earbuds are plain crap... I'll have to junk 'em....

I got an iPod Mini ONLY because I got it free when I did a focus group for Call of Duty (was a prize). I enjoy it and it fits like a complete day worth of music (most 192 kbps) and it's only half full (2GB of 4GB). The ear buds are great and also very recognizable but luckily I only mainly use it to and from class where everyone has one, or so it seems.

Thinking about getting an iPod. I miss carrying around a large music collection. Maybe treat myself for next Christmas.

i have a iriver IFP-180T, only 128MB though, was looking to upgrade myself to a iriver H10 with 5GB of storage.
in my own personal opinion ipods are just fashion items and irivers have better music quality and durability. (dont mean to flame)

I currently have a 30GB Nomad Zen Xtra. Been a great machine for me. It's not as small and "sexy" as the Ipods but for the price and features it gets my vote.

Too bad they don't make one that you can plug into your car's cassette player.

I don't care for the larger cd adapters and hate earphones/buds.

There is an iPod accessory that allows for the iPod to transmit the music via a FM signal and then you tune your radio to that signal and get your iPod through your radio.

That sounds very interesting. Any idea on the cost and where to get it? Though I'd need an ipod i suppose too. thanks

I had one for my Rio Karma. They don't always work well. The signal isn't very stong and if your car has the antenna in the back you may get poor reception.
I bought mine at Buy.com for $25 I think.

I have a Coby cassette adapter that I use with my Nomad. I think I picked it up for about $10 at Wallyworld. It's the same kind that you use with the portable CD players.

I recently bought a 30GB iPod photo and it's cool. It automatically sucks up all of my complete digi pics (less than 4GBs worth) and all my 17 hours of recorded MP3s within minutes of being plugged into a PC.
With options, it connects to any digi camera for file unloading which will come in handy on trips if I don't want to cart the laptop and it plugs into the TV to view slideshows with music.
I don't need it in my car as my cars head unit plays MP3s so I already have my MP3s burned onto one super long cd (like a neverending cd).

I use my phone, a Verizon XV6600 as an MP3 player. With Orb (
http://www.orb.com) installed on my home computer, I stream live TV, recorded TV, and my entire MP3 collection straight to my phone using my EVDO broadband service. Bluetooth headphones from HP round out my setup.
Needless to say, when I'm waiting in line Thursday night for Episode 3, at least I won't be bored. Orb really is the cat's meow.....I'm gonna be bummed when they start charging for it, but it's like crack and I'll pay.......oh yes, I'll pay.
