Only problem is I hate the feel of Logitech's MX mice. I prefer my big MS Explorer mouse.

I like the feel of their mice, but I prefer cordless. My MX700 is just fine tho...

I am using an MX500 now. It replaced my MS Explorer which I went thru several of with cord failures. The MX500 has been great and so far out lasted about 3 of the MS Explorer mice

I love my MX700. I had to get one for work, too, and replace my Explorer. I hear the MX1000 screws games if the mouse ever leaves the pad...
But I digress, schweet-looking mouse there...

I prefer a cordless and I like the feel of the M$ Explorer but I hated the way it went through batteries. Rechargeables helped keep the cost down but it was always a hassle having to change them out right in the middle of trying to do something. :|
The MX700 was nice with the charging stand and it wasn't as bad a feel as the smaller Logitechs. I just moved up to an MX1000 and it's wider body feels a lot better to me.

MaxPC gushed about the new
Razor Diamondback in this month's issue, and it also has on-the-fly sensitivity adjustments for doing things like switching to sniping mode and stuff. At $60 it'll probably be only a bit more expensive than the mx518, but if you shop around you could get it for less than $50.

Says who and why would it leave the surface, be different than any mouse off its surface?
I havent had ONE problem with mine in games.
It's rechargeable and it automatically powers itself off when not used. Touch it and it instantly powers up. I've had mine a couple weeks now and I havent yet needed to put it on its charger.

Grip mouse with hand, tilt wrist or raise arm. Especially easy to do in an intense firefight.

Logitech checked in a safety feature that the laser will deactivate when the mouse loses contact with the surface, even for a split second. This is so you don't accidentally zap yourself in the eye.

Great. The issue may have been resolved with revision 2 (or revision 3?) and since you've only had it for a couple of weeks, you apparently got the newer revision. Good for you.

I have the MX1000. It does have a delay when it leaves the surface but I suck at games so I guess it doesn't matter.

What really bugs me about it is the speed (sensitivity) varies at times during games. One moment it will be smooth and the next it will be slow or have a delay. Tried it on other surfaces but it still does it. It won't do it all the time though. I do like the feel and shape of it.
How do you tell if you have the revision 2 mouse?
