after crusin around with 5 people n an old school tercel hatchback, i thought it would be cool to get a chevette and do the same :) but the question is, does anyone know if a chevette could stand up to either a 50hp or 75 hp shot of nos? or would that little 4 banger just blow up? we bought a blue one we drove around in the bush/ field that we paid 100$ for, we painted it blue and yellow with red flames, and a pink hood scoop, custom sunroof (a la grinder and plexiglass) and baja running lights on the roof. god that 4 speed manual would haul through the bush! but im just curious if the engine can hold up to that, god it would be funny!

Considering its a 1.6l...maybe 75hp to begin with, I dunno.
But what the hay?
Give it a shot...I mean squirt :D

I'm planning on buying a Chevette myself...
Saw a local ad for an 86, 4 speed auto, 2dr, 91,000 kilometers (nothing pratically), emissions and certified for $1500. Reasonable, but I'd have to talk him down to $1200

If you don't care about the car, take a hand full of moth balls and drop them in the gas tank. it'll run like a cop after a donut on his lunch break, but only about 100 miles or a full tank of gas. Don't believe me try it.

Yaya! While you're at it, get some surplus aircraft JATOs and strap them on.
