Ahhh screw it..... Many more media players out there.... not like Winamp 5 will be outdated anytime soon...


But yeah it does suck, heard about this yesterday

been using 2.** for years and skipped all the rest up to this 5.** stuff.. i didnt really need to update it but i did.. so the project getting killed is fine by me since it seems like a rock solid product as it was back in the 2.00 days.

Same here - I stopped upgrading after 2.8 - that was the BEST version they ever made. There's been nothing since that has given me any reason to upgrade.

As long as 2.8 keeps playing all my MP3 files I don't need anything else.

I just recently upgraded to this latest version myself. But I have yet to find anything better either. Anyone have any suggestions ?

I tried installing v5.0 about 6 or 7 months ago, out of sheer ignorance. Damn thing took my CPU to 100%, and I never could get it to work right.

SMB I would recommend you try either VLC player or Zoom player either are exceptional, and free at that....

But yeah dont take me wrong I do use Winamp above all else, I was just stating the fact that the knowledge is already out there to create something just like or beyond winamp..... thus theres no loss....

Grown a lot since the version I'm using.. 2.8 It's sad to see it go, but it had one hell of a run! :)

this reminds me, anyone have the skin that looked like a handgun with the clip that slides out and all that stuff? ive been looking for it everywhere and i cant find a download after i reformatted my computer. It sucks that winamp is dying :(
