excessive capacitance WTF they clocked my signal at one of the highest they ever seen

DSLAM Trunk Status: OK
Technology: DMT4F
Card Status: OK
Port Status: Up
Actual Port Rates: 1536 kbps Downstream / 384 kbps Upstream
Margin: 31.0 dB Downstream / 24.0 dB Upstream

Upstream Cells Received from CPE: 3094 ( 74208353 )
Downstream Cells Transmitted to CPE: 8263 ( 175107415 )
ATM HEC Errors: 0 ( 51 )
Upstream Line Errors: 0 ( 1115 )
Downstream Line Errors: 0 ( 587 )
Training Starts: 0 ( 13 )

thats one thing they sent and i did some wiring in my home to make sure it wasnt inside my house that was the problem

##### called in after having replaced the CAT3 cable he had been using with CAT5. Noise margins improved by only one dB upstream. Keeping existing appointment.

again i say wtf something is wrong with the line yet my margins are awesome
up side to this mess? i get my dsl for free until the 1st

Do you have SBC/Ameritech? If so check out the SBC Midwest forum at dslreports. All kinds of good info and help there.

If you already know about the above kindly disregard this notice. :)

Also, if you don't want to deal with teir 1 support ( who does) you can go toSBC direct. I think you have to register. It may take a couple of days for a question to be answered as they are pretty busy. You post and only you and one of the techs are the only ones who can read it/respond to it. They can check your line, see if you are getting the speeds you are supposed to, upgrade your service, etc. Very useful. The people that run that forum are sbc techs, most of them are volenteers.
