So my brother is studying abroad for a semester at St. Andrews and I'm going over on my spring break to visit. Anyone here been to Scotland? Any specific sights I should see? We're staying in Edinburgh. Also, I have like 5 hours in Paris, any suggestions for sights to see besides the Tower?
Oh and I'm taking my digi cam so I'll post pics when I get back.

Paris..
Be prepared.. When I went most people were kind of rude, so I thought. But the Arc de Triumph is a sight to see. It's expensive to go to the top of the tower (like $20) and it cost money to use the bathrooms EVERYWHERE in public. So keep coins on you. I've never been to Scotland but will go one day..

yes, people in paris are very rude to americans(which is ironic since tourism is a huge money maker for them)
never been to scotland- but been threw the mediterrian twice when I was in the navy, and greece is the place to be!

I've been to Scotland. It's very nice, almost tranquil fi your going to be out in the country side.
Paris, is well, it's O.K. but anymore than 2 or 3 days it sucks. You can go see the Louvre, if it's not packed. See if you can run out to Versailles and see where they signed the treaty. If your looking to spend lots o dough, you can just go to the Rue De Lyon. The food is definitely different, so that will be something you should anticipate.

Scotland is a blast, the people are extremely friendly !
Edinburgh castle is awesome and the highest spot with whcih to look over at the city.
If you get the time and the weather I suggest a drive around Lock Lomond, has some of the most amazing scenery I have ever seen.
Glasgow is another excellent place full of history too.
One thing though, the language will be hard to understand, especially the further north you go.
My father in law is originally from Glasgow and has taken me years to understand what the hell is saying
, just be honest and ask them to you don't understand instead of nodding your head in agreement when they are politely asking your the time LOL done that a few times too !
