I'm using Waste now instead of DC with some friends. MUCH better private file sharing app.

I'm curious about what make it automatically better than DC as an app?

The article tells nothing about WASTE itself, or why it might be better.

I personally love riding on multiple private DC hubs, so much so that I even started my own.

I use Waste (and DC) to share amongst private groups.

Waste is easier to setup than DC (it works behind a firewall or router without port forwarding), it's more reliable (I am constantly having issues in DC with the hub disconnecting and sometimes refusing to let me connect), and most importantly Waste shows you file dates and lets you sort by file date (unlike DC). So you can sort a list of files by date to see the newest files in a directory.

Waste is also less of a bandwidth hog than DC. I can download while still browsing.

Very Cool Article. I have only used one file sharing prog WinMX, and I hated it.
