...and I love it. The built-in pop-up stopper is not quite as intelligent as Free Surfer BUT it stops those big full screen pop-ups on all of UGO's sites (Like Blue's News).

Mozilla's come a long way to being a lot more IE compatible - I've yet to come a cross a page that doesn't look right in Mozilla.

It's so much snappier and none of this freezing when loading a page crap that IE does more often than not lately.

Been using it 2 weeks now and I think I'll be retiring IE..... FINALLY!

I've seen the light, Doc! :)

I use 1.6a at home, usually the latest release is pretty good to use. Stay away from nightly builds, as they are testing only. The 1.5 build is considered "stable."

Oh, and if you want a browser only without a lot of added fluff, take a look at Firebird. It uses the same rendering engine as Mozilla, so web pages will look the same, but it strips out a lot of things like e-mail clients and the like. Be warned that Firebird is still pre-release (it is version 0.7, after all) so it can be a bit glitchy.

Okay, so you've gone from Intel to AMD, now IE to Mozilla. Last on the list are from nvidia to ATi, then Windows to Linux... :D

I just downloaded 1.5, but while it was downloading, I decided to view the readme file. It says the minimum requirement is Win98 second edition. I'm running win98 original. :(

If you download all the windows updates for win98, technically you will have win98 SE.

I'm glad yer like Mozilla, I've been using it since pre-beta when it was still called as milestones. That was around the end of 1999 when I started using Mozilla and I frequently used nighlies back then, though not anymore. I have Mozilla 1.6b and Firebird 0.7 on my PC but I'm mainly using Firebird nowadays. I can't wait till 0.8 will be released, supposedly at the same time when Mozilla 1.6 will be released (unless some bugs won't allow that).
I'm also using Thunderbird 0.4, the new standalone email program from Mozilla. It already replaced my trusty Outlook 2000.

Mozilla Firebird and Thunderbird are Technology Previews ... but they've been quite stable for me.

There're some nice addons for Mozilla/Firebird, like the Tabbrowser Extensions which enhance the builtin tab functions. You can reorder tabs via drag and drop and some other nice features.

I have been trying to get used to Firebird the last week or two. I still am not sold on it, maybe because I am such a creature of habit. To me it feels a little sluggish compared to IE , maybe it is just me or my machine. The other big thing I miss is any spell checking app for forums and online forums. In IE I use IESpell a lot and sure miss having something like that in Firebird. The big thing was supposed to be TAB browsing but I just dont see the benefit of it yet. Seems like the only difference is if you have the tab at top of browser or the boxes at bottom of browser. Am I missing something about TAB browsing?

No problems printing in Mozilla 1.5 so far - I do a fair amount of printing from the browser.

One thing that irritates me with IE when printing is getting pages that are faint to read because the web site uses color. So when a page prints, it's not always pure black. I've tried playing around with all the settings, but IE6 thinks I have a color printer I guess. Pretty lame they don't have an option to allow you to print in true black and white.

FP,

I have been using Avant browser for some time for the tabbed browsing, I finally got firebird and am using it now, I love the ability to add all the extensions and really set things up the way I want them. Avant browser had all the settings allready there, you have to add extensions with firebird to get the full functionality but it is fast as hell, I'm happy with it so far, gotta love the price too.
