Recently we asked the local TARGET store to be a proud sponsor of

We received the following reply from the local TARGET management:
"Veterans do not meet our area of giving. We only donate to the

arts,

social action groups, gay &lesbian causes, and education."

We
were not asking for thousands of dollars, not even hundreds, just a
small
sponsorship for a memorial remembrance.
As a follow-up, I e-mailed the TARGET U.S. corporate headquarters
and
their response was the same. That's their
national policy.
Then I looked into the company further. They will not allow the
Marines

> to collect for 'Toys for Tots' at any of their stores. And during
the
recent Iraq deployment, they would not allow families of employees
who

were

called up for active duty to continue their insurance coverage while

they

were on military service. Then as I dig further, TARGET is a

French-owned
corporation.

Now, I'm thinking again. If TARGET can not support American

Veterans,

then why should I and my family support their stores by spending our
hard

earned American dollars and to have their profits sent to France.



Without

the American Vets, where would France be today?

Wow .. thats a damn shame. I won't be spending money there anytime soon.

ive thought of ging there to buy stuff but not now... I will never shop there.

i read the title and thought that it would say Target stores were going to help us fold...since this is the distributed computing forum and all...

Phew that was a close one. I like the local Target store here and was getting pretty pissed reading the original post. Ya gotta love snopes. Wonder who started the hoax,,, K Mart maybe?

ya i prefer Target over K or Wall Marche anyday. Prices might be a bit more but i don't have to deal with all of the asshole white trash and can't speak english hispanics that seem to populate Walmart. I love it when people have 4-6 kids let them run wild all over hte store and when one of hte little brats runs into you they have the balls to cuss you out. Only time i go to Wally world is when i hit up the automotive section... and i always go in the back door by the tires lol

You haven't seen anything till you visit the Wal Mart here in Pharr Texas. There is a Wal Mart that I refuse to go to, because all the Mexicans from Mexico fill the place up. Heck, even the Texas mexicans don't want to go there.

I have nothing against people wanting to better themselves... but around here i have never met a more rude pack of people in my life. They ask you if you speak spanish, you say no then they look at you like your a piece of shit and owe them something. And whats funny is it isn't the guys, 9 times out of 10 its a woman. I just love their expression when i look at them and say La Migra. They get that oh shit look Its bad up here in central washington state but doubt its nothing like closer to the border.
