for me it was a warn flat E&B beer we stole off a friends grand ma and starched it in my garage for over a day in the middle of summer .
was it bad tasting and flat as hell .
give a little history here seeing most had never heard of this brand !
and its a old beer brand .
E&B acquired the Schmidt Brewing Co. of Detroit in 1951 and produced Schmidt's beer under the name of Schmidt Brewing Co. as well as their own. E & B merged with Pfeiffer Brewing Co. in 1962 to form the basis for the Associated Brewing Co. conglomerate.
Miller Lite..

My actual first taste was when younger and having coughing spells my Dad would give me 2-3 spoonfuls of whiskey. It did stop my coughing. Mainly because I was skeered he'd give me more.
My first intentional was either boones farm wine or miller beer in those midget bottles.

My first taste was probably an accidental sip from my dads rum & coke he'd always mix. Intentional drinking was probably vodka.

When I was about 11, my parents had a rec room in the basement and there was at least one bottle of wine in a small mini-bar so we thought we were cool by drinking some of it. We didn't drink enough to get buzzed but enough to make it noticeable so we topped it back up with various sodas as if no one would notice. Then, at Christmass dinner out it comes and I remember my mother mentioning that it tasted strange

After that, a few years later things got worse but I won't go there.
Actually, now that I'm thinking about this, I was allowed to have 1 glass of wine only at Christmass dinner even before that but I have no idea as to why this was a "good idea"? I never allowed the same with my son and even now, at 19 I still say no when he asks if he can have a beer or something on rare occasion at home.

My first was when I was about ten years old.
My old man decided that he'd teach me how to mix his drinks so he wouldn't have to get up from the game. Nothing too difficult just Weller and Coke. To make sure I did it right he had me taste it to know how it should be. Six drinks later, a lot taste testing, and now you know why my eyes are
red.

I think my first was when I was 12 or 13 and I asked my dad if I could try one of his beers. Halfway through, he offered to finish it. It was probably obvious I couldn't stand it. I still don't like beer although I could get used to the occasional Guiness.
There was a coffee brandy that I had a few years later at a cousin's house. I enjoyed that. I'm still a mixed drinks person.
I didn't actually start buying alcohol to keep at home until I was in my late 20's. I remember going into a liquor store to buy my first selections and not knowing what to look for. I asked the clerk for recommendations and ended up getting some Irish Whiskey for my coffee. I never did like it straight.
I keep a modest selection at home now but it's only once in a great while that I'll have anything to drink. I just don't think of it that often.

my 1st drink was a flask of gin chased with dr pepper when I was 16. needless to say, I had a great time that night, made a fool of myself in a mcdonalds, called some girl bambie all night, cut my leg and hands from falling down so much, remember being at a movie theater and trying to jump out of the car while it was moving. and then trying to "act" sober when I got home and my mom busting me.
