Not happy with my last Directron Order...
Just a heads-up.
I order from Directron a lot and until this last order I've never had a complaint. I'm willing to give them another try since it could be some idiot they just hired that screwed up.
Trouble is I've emailed and faxed them to complain and gotten no response yet (it's been a three weeks since I emailed and a two weeks since I faxed). I'm not asking for any kind of recompense, just an apology and an assurance that it won't happen again and I haven't even gotten that yet.
My complaints:
- The smaller parts came poorly packaged. The box was too small and there weren't nearly enough packing peanuts around things. The CD and floppy drives were actually right up against the side of the box with only one layer of thin bubble pack around them.
- 6 fans and and 2 mice were just rolled up together in some bubble pack and not individually wrapped with no consideration that the blades on the fans could have been damaged in shipment.
- The ATX case I ordered had a dent on one side, right next to the PSU. No way the dent happened in shipping - it was behind undamaged cardboard and styrofoam. Since I custom ordered a better PSU than the stock one that comes with the case, that means that whoever installed the PSU should have seen the dent (or caused it himself).
- Probably the worst insult is that the CD-Rom drive I order was SUPPOSED to be OEM. It was OBVIOUSLY a system-pull. It had numerous tool marks and scratches from being inserted and removed into a case drive bay.
I don't have the time to waste, but I'm debating calling them. It's pissing me off.

I know, that's what's bothering me. I've had nothing but good luck with them in the past.
Maybe they just hired some new a-hole in the shipping dept (doesn't entirely explain the CD-Rom drive though) and I'd just like an explanation, but they're ignoring me and that's only pissing me off more.

hate to waist the time but it sounds like something that needs to be taken care of over the phone.

I've ordered various smaller things from them but I just ordered my first case through them.
I got a Enermax cs688al-01, a nexus, a p4 spark7, and a few small mod supplies
they never even emailed me about my order I had to call them to get my order number so I could track it.
I'm hoping the case arrives well (should be here tommorow).
And why does anyone even use UPS?! It's slower, doesnt deliver on saturdays, and cost as much or more than Fedex...never mind all the things I've had damaged by UPS

Well that was impressive. Not 30 minutes after I posted on thier forum I got a phone call, an apology and a refund for the CD-Rom.
Guess the forum is the way to go.
They are going to change the catalog entry for the Cd-Rom so it says system pull instead of OEM. He tried to tell me that some of the drives were shipped to them without any packing between them and they may have gotten scratched that way, but that didn't wash. The scratches were long and horizontal like they would be caused if inserted and pulled from a case. As he ultimately agreed, the price is a good one even for a system pull, and if there's others scratched like that they can't honestly call them OEM.
I'll give them another try again. Hopefully it was just some kid working the warehouse they hired on Monday and fired on Tuesday.

Just an update on my above post.
I got my case and all the trimmings I ordered, with one exception. They sent me a Volcano9 socket 462 HSF and I ordered a p4 Spark7 478 HSF.
Filled out the online discrepancy report and they called me back the next day.
A little bitching on my part and they upgraded the replacments shipping from Ground to 2nd Day and Are sending UPS to come pick up the Volcano.
Yeah they screwed up but they fixed it with style. I'll order from them again.
