my heart and prayers go out, I had a brother dye of that same kinda cancer, he was three, two years b4 him my sis who was 5 died of lukiemia, this was 10 yrs ago but the memorys never fade, On the briter side the kids alot of the time are stonger then those of us who are not sick, I believe that both had made there peace with god before passing, I however didnt for 8 yrs, If you need any info on support groups of camps for the siblings LMK, i volenteer and participate in these things, Also if funds are needed to be raised i can put up something at the pizza place i run, the lukemia kids poster i have up now is almost finished.

a update i got today guys and thanks what more can i say :)
Hi Mike,

Sorry I haven't been in contact in awhile. As you have probably seen on the website.......Beth had to go back to the hospital last Wednesday. The pressure was building in her head. The doctor went back into her brain and did a procedure called a ventriculostomy. That's where they create a channel for the blocked fluid to flow through. On
Friday Beth was having bad headaches even after the procedure. The doctor had installed a resevoir under the scalp on Beth's head which enables him to pull fluid directly out of her brain if it gets to high. Well......they did exactly that to relieve the pressure while her brain re-learns to absorbe the fluid. Poor kid........they stuck a huge needle right into the fresh, swollen (3 inch long) incision site. She came unglued!!!!! She has endured in one month more than most of us ever will in a life time. She is doing much better as of this morning (Sunday). She is starting to eat again and doesn't have headaches. The doctor was pleased with her progress and wants to keep her for one more night just to monitor her progress and says that if all stays well and progresses then she can come back home tomorrow!!!!!!!

So................pray pray pray that she does well..........she hates the hospital.

Take care,
Mike

for you who are watching and praying for this little girl
1-20-03 - Beth is discharged from the hospital and home again as of this
afternoon! All seems to be well with the ventriculostomy. No headaches now that
the procedure has been done. The doctor says it's 85% successful in cases such
as Beths so were keeping our fingers crossed. Over the next week or so she is
slowly being weened of a steroid called "Decadron" which keeps the swelling to a
minimum. Chemo and radiation are now both scheduled to start on 1-29-03.
