I found this link somewhere and while I got sick watching it, do they have rules that let them do anythng they want to a system while it's there?

I honestly hope he wasn't cheating......but there didn't seem to be much of a trial going on, just alot of sentencing.

I think that was staged.

Let's put it this way, if it wasn't, that video would be a dandy piece of evidence to use in court against the sponsors of the LAN and the guys who assualted him.

Whether he was cheating or not, that's assault and destruction of private property. Any lawyer would have a field day with it.

I'd agree with FP, I bet that was a CGA monitor and a 386 PC. If somebody did that to my machine it would be on for sure. There would be some major damage going on in that LAN party, I'd get back in there no matter what and just start tossing boxes.

Ya it had to be staged Either that or those people can look forward to jail time and a big ole law suit.

Plus how many of you would simply walk away after someone thru you down and busted your stuff up?

I know i wouldn't i'd be going back in with a nice lead pipe and having some fun of my own with their stuff... That had to have been staged. If he was cheatin' and got busted i would definately have gotten the cops out there and had those assholes arrested for vandalism after they pulled that shit. All they should have done was unplugged his connection and asked him to leave in a timely fashion.

I had to watch it again looked like a newer mobo maybe not too new it had 5 pci and 2 isa slots to me.. Got a decent shot of the mobo at the end looked like it was a slot 1 board.

Rough crowd. It has to be staged as what's the likelyhood anyone would just happen to have a camera on at that moment? It's advertizing for their lan club but at the same time they're trying to send out a message, nothing more IMO.

If they make you sign a contract, then you might forfeit your rights to your computer if you cheat. You can pretty much sign anything away in a contract.

Would a court uphold the contract? I dunno.

I wouldn't want to go to a place like that, anyway. I am guessing the video was supposed to be funny, but I thought it was stupid and immature.

I've had some places (all kinds of businesses and clubs, etc) that when you are buying a ticket (club, etc) or bringing something to a business (sometimes a repair shop, sometimes other stuff), it basically says they are not liable for squat and you are basically using personal judgement to decide that you are going to trust them. :( (In fact, I had brought my computer into a repair place and it's terminolgy basically said that anything could happen and it wouldn't be their fault. Not only files, but hardware too.) So I guess even if this is a joke, you still gotta be careful when you take personal property with you places. :/
