banned again @ banandtech

Post by VidmanII »

Imagine, they ban me for pointing out that the members were being hustled in a phoney charity thread where compuwiz/Steve was claiming to be "in need" just because he had a couple of sick dogs and a vet bill. The lazy SOB hasn't had a job in years yet has no problem solicting cash from the members of the bbs.

I mean hell, usually in any kind of charity the money is sent to a 3rd party who validates the donations and passes on the appropriate amount to the person(s) in need. In this fubar'd mess of a thread people were sending money DIRECTLY to this guy via paypal !!!!!! When somebody said he didn't do paypal, the bozo posts his address and says 'send your money orders here!" What's sickening about it was that people were blabbing in the thread about how much they were giving just so they'd be considered "cool" and basically buying their way into the "in crowd" over there. All the while this guy Steve is sitting back laughing his ass off and raking in the dough. He's prolly out shopping for a couple Cheetahs and an AMD dual proc mobo as we speak. What a scam artist he is !

This dude took in over 2.5 GRAND from this thread too ! What a bunch of suckers. Here we have peeps from 9-11 recovering from the loss of loved ones, and even a few members of PCA in bad health and these dopes are sending money to some hustler who's too lazy to work. You'd think the modz ( and I use the term loosely) would protect the members from such an obvious hustle, but it appeared to me as if they were actually encouraging him. Maybe the dude's an insider at Anand's or something. Dunno and don't care really.

Bottom line for me is, PCA is a world apart from that troll farm and while we may not have anywhere near the membership, this place is ACES !! I'm proud to be a part of this place and it is a pleasure to interact with each and everyone of you. Yes Dirk, even you. :lol

Hats off to Blade and all the modz here for making this the best bbs for me and many others. As for the modz at banandtech? I wonder who's watching them as that was the most shameful, unethical hustle ever perpetrated on a bbs.

Anyway , to hell wit 'em. Let's give it up for everybody here @ PCA !!!

I'll admit I gave a couple peeps a real goin' over , including the mod(s) and did indeed tell a mod that he had a "room temperature IQ" for allowing the thread. That prolly didn't exactly help my "member" status. :lol Mostly tho, I was so appalled at what was transpiring that I couldn't believe it !! I've got nothing against dogs at all and believe in kindness to animals etc, but there's NO WAY that his situation qualifies as being "in need" to the point of having some lackey start a hustle thread for him like that.

I was up to my neck with his bullsh!t @ AGN with his phoney "I'm not a dealer" claims and his incessant spam in his posts and his sigs. So much so, that we (AGN modz) had to e-mail him OVER and OVER to try to get him to lighten up in that it was annoying peeps on the buy/sell forum. He'd never take responsibility for his actions but instead would whine and cry that we were picking on him. WE never banned him tho and allowed him to present his points, regardless of how juvenile and inane they were, in the threads where the disagreements would take place.

Trust me when I tell ya that Steve was behind this whole hustle/scam thing @ anand's. He's been a schemer ever since I first came across him years ago. That's why he was on a tight leash @ AGN. That dude would sell his grandmother for a nickel. When his website went belly up, he blamed the bbs's for not being able to have a link to his site, in his sigs and posts, as the reason he went out of biz. Like "duh, dude" pay for some advertising like any other legit business. All this dude ever does is cry the blues and yet heaven forbid he ever gets off his lard a$$ and gets a job. Disagree with him over there and surprise !! All your comments get edited and you get banned. A real man would take the heat and argy-bargy it out with peeps of dissenting opinion.

They can ban me, call me all the names they want, but anyone who has any inside info on what went down over there KNOWS it was a scam. I like to think what goes around comes around. He'll get his one of these days. I'm sure. :mad

I hope he reads this and I invite him in here for some lively debate. Provided he's got the "minerals" of course. Unlike that AnandTroll bbs he hangs out at, he can feel free to post any opposing viewpoint. But he better be ready to answer some "probing" questions as well. For that reason and not having his modz to protect him, I doubt you'll be seeing him here anytime soon.

I stubbed my toe.I wonder how much I could get over there for that?Joking. :)

It does seem like a pretty lame reason to donate money to someone though.I just cant believe all those people were so willing to fork out money like that, just crazy.

The stupid part was that vidman was just saying some legit concerns in the thread, pretty much along the lines of with all the crazy crap and scams that go around shouldn't someone checkup or monitor this somehow since so many people are shelling out so much money? It then turned into a banning when a few members got all riled up that he could be questioning it as they donated another 50-100 dollars to the cause, ultimately I don't think the questions were even answered and they just edited his posts out, followed by a bunch of members saying he was a ass because of what he posted.

First I really didn't see the connection with people trying to buy their way into the "in crowd", the more I looked at it and saw all these people feeling the need to publicly state exactly how much they were giving and patting themselves on the back it became much more clear.

I'm sure the anandtech mods have a large job with so many members there and the signal/noise ratio being quite low at times, but from what I have seen they look to play a holier than thou type roll as they police people. A huge game of favorites and more concern with what witty quote they can use instead of how things are really being dealt with.

Overall I'm dog lover as much or more than most, the "collection" was very odd to say the least and the fact that 1 person questioned it and got banned is just pathetic.

Hey I love dogs and animals too but I can't put them over humans. We have so many people suffering and in dire need yet here it was for ones personal dog bills. That is just plain dispicable. :( It's one thing when giving to animal cruelty or suffering funds but another for ones dog's medical bills. Big difference there.

Being after the tragedy and here at Christmas people are in a more sympathetic frame of mind and that was taken advantage of, sadly. There was a trollhunters fund that was made clear it'd go for a good cause like to those in dire personal need and it raised $140, yet for ones dog bills around 3k was raised and probably still growing. What am I missing here? :(

As Vid said it started a chain reaction and others felt it was the thing to do. Because of that I don't blame those who gave. And of course it's ones business where they wish to give their money. However this was pretty much shoved in front of them and continued shamelessly. I do blame myself for not speaking up earlier in that thread though. I did try earlier, just wasn't in that thread.
When somebody said he didn't do paypal, the bozo posts his address and says 'send your money orders here!"

I read that thread when it first came out, I thought it was pretty stupid myself. If you can't afford a dog, why do you have one ? Sound too goofy, especially around the holidays.

Bash me for saying this but:

I'm from the south where we love our dogs and take the best care of them but......if one gets to the point where it is going to become a detriment to my families well being, a 22 bullet is the most I'm going to pay for it. Don't get me wrong and thank I don't love animals, I do but they are pets. Anyone who puts his dog before his bills, therefore jeopardizing their family, well, they have more compassion than I, or do I just have more realistic viewpoints? To spend that much money on an animal that will be gone in 5-10 years anyway? While you and your family suffer? One bullet would do it.

glassoftea I'm in WA St. and thats how i see it... I've had to shoot 2 of my dogs... Some of the toughest shit i ever did but they were suffering... I didn't have the cash to take them to the vet. Some people go to the extreme for their pets... All my dogs have been like family to me, but there's a point where you have to destinguish your pets from your family and family comes first. Pets are replaceable family isn't...

I bet the trolltech mods come here, see all the peopel ragging on them, then come down on any PCA people they see posting something. It probably kills them to see someone dogging them where they cannot ban them.

Just a thought.

I read the first and last 2 pages of that post. Donating is great if you see fit, but does everyone need to know how much?

On that note, I've had to put down a dog. He was a great friend, but not worth the $1200 for surgery.

Here's my new buddy <a href="http://www.geocities.com/samstemp/pics/ ... pg">Max</a>
