RED SEPTEMBER - (First reviews in!)

Post by DirkBelig »

After a torturous THREE-AND-A-HALF YEAR long production process in which I polled the member of AGN and PCA about the CD art and had members like Corn and Renovation become show-attending members of the RED ARMY ;) , I'm pleased to finally be able to announce that "Wake Up Call" is DONE!!! :D (Okay...ALMOST done. It's being duped as I type this.)

As a special tribute to the BBS that has been the best family on the web, I've given shout-outs to a whole bunch of YOU GUYS in the liner notes (Who? Get a CD and find out! ;) ) and have made as the back cover/tray card a special version of a very familiar place:

<a href="http://www.geocities.com/staticrecords/ ... -PCA-Big.x" target="_blank"><img src="http://www.geocities.com/staticrecords/ ... PCA.x"></a>

For those of you in the Detroit area, the CD Release Party on Friday, Nov. 16th at Jacoby's in downtown Detroit (right around the corner from St. Andrew's Hall). Also playing will be Jettison Red (cool power-pop who are also releasing thier CD "Clear As Day") and The Bomb Pops (punky-pop with vox like Gwen Stefani), so it's going to be a really great show. Please try to make it down if you can, we'd love to see ya! (As a special bonus at the show ONLY, you can get BOTH the Red Sept. & Jet Red CDs for $15.)

It's been a long, LOOOOOOONG time coming and I thank all the AGN/PCA members who've occasionally dropped me a line to ask how it was coming along. We've already gotten interest from a lawyer with THE biggest law firm in the music business and he may be able to really hook us up! (fingers crossed!)

So, if somehow it all works out and I become the next Big Famous Rock Star from Detroit (I DON'T want Pamela Anderson-Lee-Rock though!), I promise not to forget the people who were around when it all began AND a few of you may become famous too! (Or at leat your handles!)

Thanks everyone. :)

The CD is $10 (plus S&H) and you can get it here.

I was trying to avoid making this too much of a commercial (and thus making blade kill my GIF and this thread.) I'd love it if everyone bought a copy or two (holidays coming up!), but the biggest reason was to let you guys know that it FINALLY got done.

Cool, I'll be looking for it... Hopefully it can make some stores around here or amazon.com or something.
I see you used part of the cover art that I suggested :)

I posted the link directly to the label site. I think when it goes thru Amazon or CD Now, the distributors tack on more grift for themselves and the price goes up, while the money we get goes down. Static has secure CC ordering too, so it's no different on your end.

EDIT: Ok, I've ordered it now. Damn, I'm really excited. I've been waiting for this disc for like two years, great to see it finally getting relased!

LMAO......wife...got......lucky....Comcast is stopping by this thursday to install a cable modem. :B

Being the cheap bastard that I am, I'm gonna go for the 2 for $15 deal and snap it up at the party, besides I think Dirk will see more cash that way anyway.

You better be ready for some drinkin' during the party Reno, I sure am. You might want to start practicing now.......

YEA!!!! Welcome to the 20th Century!!!! (Guess you won't be needing that shovel now.)

Actually, it's gonna cost us a bit to do the deal, but I really don't want to turn it into an "us vs. them". I think the Jet Red album is pretty good and I wanted to make it easier for people to pick up both of them. If it was $20 (2 x $10), I think people would pick and choose, but since it's only like an extra beer's worth of cash, they'll take a chance on the other band's disc.

Making money is cool (it'll fund the next CD - so please don't give it away on Morpheus, mmkay?), but we really want our music HEARD by as many people as possible so that they'll recommend it to others who will in turn, buy their own copies.

I suggested offering the "two-fer" deal on the label site, but they shot it down and I understand why: Discounts cost money and the bands will be able to make the the difference at the show with the cover charge proceeds.
