This is Pikachu's fiancee, and yep I happen to work at Intel. I know...I should be at AMD...

I did some checking into Intel sponsorship, and they have a whole list of criteria for things that they'll sponsor. One of those is that the event has to happen in a community where there is an Intel site. Unfortunately, most Intel sites are in the west, with the exception of Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Austin, Texas. I'll keep looking, though...maybe there's something that I've missed.

We already run a LAN around here and so the locals would reconize the LAN I would like to continue calling it HubLAN. Maybe something like a joint HubLAN / PCA South :)

I have one location for $800 for the whole weekend and maybe another but dont know the cost.
MidnightSin might have another location for cheaper... Stay tuned for further updates.
Once we have a location we can work on a date. Lets start a discussion on dates. I was thinking first of November... What do you think?

Hublan has a name around here. When I bring up lan's with ppl.. they ask about Hublan..

I can try to pull some TGL ppl.. thats The gamers at Tech.. but.. they seemed to have fizzeled..

the name.. if my opinion matters.. should be PCA something 06..

maybe PCA Tour 2006: Texas or PCA/Hublan Presentes PCA Tour 2006: Texas

PCA is going to be the main.. but Hublan is the local deal.. I will even call in Death and Tax's from Alamogordo.. and try to reach out to the AGP ppl in Clovis.. as far as getting the word out.. it can be done.. Midnight Sin and I have the storefront.. so posting there is never an issue..

Date.. Uhh whenever.. I know I will be there..

If we plan it out for 100.. we will need some switch's.. I have the 2 24's.. Duckie has some. mine are 10/100

I am sure there are some here who can run circles around me on the networking.. and if they want they can take it.. if not. I will run that if needed.. whatever.. just point me to a task.. and I will get on it..

Sponsorship... Seems our little Intern Guardian Asher has spear headed that.. and I will talk to him some more. I have some contacts.. see what we can pull..

I want to see this happen.. we need MORE lan's in this area. and to have the PCA come down it is going to rock..

I may be able to borrow 4 24 port Delll 10/100 switches with gigabit uplinks. I also have 1 cisco 24 port 10/100 switch.

Depending on how long of a drive it is to Texas from Indiana I should have no problem on any weekend. Sometime in November is probably better for me than October.

ok update,

someone needs to take charge of this texas site.... whoever is going to host this lan give me a pm. We'll start hammering out a date. We need a venue that will hold approximately 80 people (this won't be zion's size, trust me greg and I agree). I guess I'll be the guy who collects the info and posts all the true information... For sponcers and such not, I got some info on that, and I want your info too, pm me. Anybody from up north I'll give you the skinny... 14-15 hours from Valparaiso, IN (That's I-65 exit from SR 2). Trust me I know, drove it over 5 times.

Unless someone else want to step up and grab all the info, let me know.... otherwise start flooding me with pm's.

John

PS, state your equipment needs (in a pm), you'd be amazed to what i got here just sitting around in parts (or what I can find)...

Okay, John. PM me when you get location/date, ESPECIALLY DATE hammered out. I have a lot, and I mean a 'lot' of resources set aside for sponsors, but they need to be sent in 4 weeks in advance of the LAN event. LMK.

I am going to hit up Duckie tommarow (mon) and have talked to Sin.. I think the Texas end may be a 3.5 man (sorry Asher.. your only .5) operation.. but we can hammer it out.. and get things rolling on this..

Location I don't think will be the issue.. along w/ Tables and Chairs.. I know Sin.. and I and Tableleg will surely bring our own.. Cat 5 shouldn't be to bad.. Switch's look like they may be covered.. and all that's left is ppl..

let's get you damn Yankee's down here to the south.. I bet if I round up enough Mesquite.. Sin will do some Killer BBQ Tx Style for Yall..

going to PM John my Cell for contact.. as well as Sin's.. Asher your on your own with your cell going out.. I know I have BOTH of them.. :D ..

Going to start a thread on Games.. like. WHAT DO YOU WANT TO PLAY??? maybe TF2 if it's out?? anyone??
