I must say this though - Frost, for a fourteen year old your spelling and grammar is better than most college students. You seem to be very intelligent and your posts are well thought. Don't go messing up what I perceive to be a very bright future.

Just remembered this from bio class in college. Normally your blood cells carry oxygen throughout the body. Alcohol easily diffuses across the cell walls of red blood cells. When enough of it enters your body your circulatory system will cycle that alcohol throughout, even to the brain. The sensation of drunkeness is a result of your brain not getting enough oxygen. That's why drinking kills brain cells. Scary thought eh?

That is a pretty scary thought. Thank you for the compliments by the way.

finally, he seemed to listen to that scientific fact as opposed to personal experience... odd for a 14 year old.

Hope you listen Frost, cuz we just don't want you to be like some of us.

Beleive me biohazard I AM listening. This is really nice. I never thought that an online comunity would have such an affect on me. You guys are like my family. Everything said has been considered and thought over time again my me. I am not saying that from this day forward my next drink will be the night of my 21st birthday, I won't have sex till I am married, and that I won't even think about doing "herbs" again, but I look at all these things much differently now. I am also NOT saying that I am going to continue to do these things until my life is ****ed and I have some serious work to do to get back on the right track.

I would like to thank you all very much!

I've 15 but I believe I'm very mature for my age. I walk around school and look at all the people and just think what the hell they are doing it and why the are doing it. This is something I believe though:

It's my life, you live it once-have fun! This is the party side of me. If somebody handed me a joint right now, I'd wait for the right time to smoke it--then smoke it. I've done it a couple times-I enjoyed it. I haven't done it for probably 6 months because my computer eats cocaine to run at 700Mhz ;) Seriously though, I put sooo much money towards my computer and car (and I have no job) so I can't afford liquor or weed. Simple as that.

In no way am I addicted to either alcohol or weed, but I still do/would do it every now and then. I'd definitly limit myself.

Frost, if you are still thinking about doing these things, I hope you feel the same way. Also, DON'T knock up your girlfriend. maybe some oral, but not IT. I doubt I'd ever be able to have sex 'till I'm madly in love with somebody for this reason:

Everytime I think about it, I put myself in her fathers shoes. I think about if I had a dauther, would I want some kid going around screwing her? Hell nah! So why would I do it?

Hope this clears some stuff up for ya. Basically, don't screw her and if you decide to drink/smoke, be smart about it. Don't do it in a situation where you could easily be caught becaues then you are never comfortable and it's not enjoyable. Don't do it because your friends are doing it. Listen to your inner conscience and just be smart about it, ok?

Also, don't do it one weekend and then plan to do it the next weeked. Soon it will be a thing you do every weekend and you become a loser. A stoner is all you will be and all you will ever be. Nothing is worse than that, in my book. Stay cool and put more of that money you are wasting towards your computer :D

Hipnotic: Beleive me I am smart about it. AND I have lots of money in my computer.

ViewSonic PF790 (paid for half of old one, and bestbuy gave me this when it died)
Enlight 7237 w/300 watt power supply (paid for half)
Asus K7M (Christmas/birthday present, had to give my old cpu/mobo to my mom which I paid for half of)
Athlon 850(paid for half of cuz I killed my first one that was a present)
128 megs of Micron 8e (paid for half)
GeForce DDR (Christmas present from my mom)
Muse Sound 4 channel soundcard (bought myslef)
17.2gig harddrive (traded old hard-drive and V3 2000 for like a year ago. I bought the V3)
External 56k motoral modem (Worked on a friends comp for this)
5x DVD drive (paid for half)
8/4/32 plextor ide burner (birthday present from my dad)
floppy (scrapped it from an old box I was working on)
crappy mouse/keyboard (Dad bought these)

In exception for the soundcard Everything that I paid for was when I was 13 or maybe 12. I only turned 14 like a little more than a month ago, and with hockey being very expensive, friends's birthdays, christmas, and mcdonalds being so close I haven't had much money to put into the puter. I am working now though. I make around $80-$110 a paycheck. Its not much, but I only work like 8 hours a week.

Beleive it or not I have paid for weed only 1 time. Liquer only a few times. I don't do it every week on it nor do I plan on it very often. If me and my friends are going to get together maybe, but not all the time.

I have to agree that being a stoner isn't a good thing. Like you I only do it occasionally. And becoming a stoner is not at all what I want to do with my life. Right now I am working on my MCSE, HTML, and trying to figure out how to get more buisiness for my comp building skills.

About doing stuffs with my girlfriend I don't know what is going to happen. I REALLY like her alot, and have for years now. We just never really got to hook up.

Glad to hear you're working towards your MSCE! Keep up that kind of stuff.

One of our vendors who works on our network here, has a 19 year old who is MSCE certified (along with MCNE, CNE, CNI, A+, CNA, Cisco, and some other jabber). He makes $200,000 a year, and had never been to college!

Shows me that there is hope for us youngins in the field (I'm 20 and currently hold the title of "Hardware Specialist")

Here is my $.02....

All you guys have valid points but although you have been where he is, you aren't there NOW (I am 15). I am and I can totally understand what he is going through. I feel the same way as Frost towards weed and booze....I COULD quit if I wanted too. I haven't smoked up for 2 weeks and I am absolutely fine. I rarely drink because I like cannabis more (but that is besides the point). What I am trying to say is that drugs have differents effects on everyone, and not everyone becomes a heroin addict or a wife beater from smoking some weed or getting drunk on the weekends.

Like most everyhitn in life, marijuana is good in moderation. It is not physically addicting, can be addicting in your head for some people. Did u guys know that tobacco and alcohol are classified as HARDER drugs than weed? Before I began smoking, I did ALOT of research, i suggest you all do the same. Here is a site with an excellent FAQ: http://www.erowid.org/plants/cannabis/c ... faq1.shtml

BTW: I am no pot head

ultima... you're right about the adictive properties of booze and cigarettes. But that's because they're more readily available. Weed actually has MANY problems with it. the exact TYPE of plant it comes from can change the effects, mental stress, emotional stress, hormones, and MANY other things that are going on in a teens life. Not to mention things peopel put in with weed when they sell it. I've heard of guys putting bleach on the stuff, mixing in other plants that are toxic (some to try to get a buzz of that too). All of these things are VERY dangerous. Trust me, just cuz you don't do it every day (like I did for about 2 years), doesn't mean you're not hooked. Your body will continue to crave it... until it's pushing you to do it every day. I've seen this way to often, you're gonna learn the hard way if you keep it up.

Please think about what you've read here... many of us didn't have the advantage of this kind of help, and had to learn this the HARD way. Arrested, hospitalized, mentally scarred for life, financially ruined, and loosing our loved ones.

Very true ultima. The few times I smoked weed it was actually pretty miserable. My mind just can't tolerate the stuff and does strange things. Driving was the worst. I stopped for a red light that was about 100 feet in front of me. So I called it quits and haven't touched it since. Anything taken in moderation is ok. The problem is that it's SO easy to convince yourself that a "little more" won't hurt. And then a "little more", and so on.

I'm 15 but I don't have a problem with people influencing me with drugs or booze. If you're with a whole bunch of people who are getting high or drunk, they won't remember who was or wasn't doing so the next day. My close friends don't do drugs or alcohol, so that makes it much easier for me, I guess. I suppose that I will never understand the point of doing stuff that isn't supposed to be done. Is the point just to break the rules, or are they used to enhance social activities?

Im not trying to promote use of weed but it just makes things more fun. You seem to tink that it is that we are giving in to peer pressure....it's totally not that! The only reason that I tried it for the first time was because I was curious and had read alot about it. Like I said before, the more you know, the better you are.
