@Home users - a quick heads up!
Well, my cable company seems to think that the service isn't going to stop:

I've been having all sorts of connection probs for the last 2 weeks with Comcast@Home. It was down for a couple of days, then it worked OK and then it died again. The weird part is that DHCP is dead, but if I plugged in the IP, DNS and gateway info that they gave me 2-1/2 years ago, it WOULD connect, but it was really slow until last night when it kicked in full speed. I still can't send mail, but that may be changed when I get home. Just hope the change is for the better.

I don't understand how all of these broadband places are going under... 40 bucks a month x 4 million users. Thats 160 million a month they are bring in... I know they don't get that much cause att comcast etc etc get that money and pay @home a chunk for the network service. I think its all a bunch of bullshit myself. There have been a bunch of DSL providers that have went under i don't know how... With the way broadband has taken off you'd think they would be rolling in the dough... Poor business management is what it sounds like to me.

BS if you ask me. It's gross mismanagement if they're losing money.
Anyone using DirectPC satelite? I heard it's only $50 a month now. Like to hear from someone who has it though.
I'm WAY outside range for DSL and can't get ISDN, and best I can do on dialup is 26K. My only other choice is to use dual modems to get 52K - I'd have to reactivate my two spare phone lines

1:10 am EST and on the air, but still can't send mail.
This story says that A bankruptcy court judge ruled Friday that angry bondholders and cable partners of Excite@Home must go back to the bargaining table, leaving 4 million customers of the high-speed Internet service in limbo.
This story sounds like it's unlikely anything will happen.
This is littl more than a high-buck game of lair's poker and chicken with US stuck in the middle. Bah!

(Nominated Best Rock Recording - 2002 Detroit Music Awards)On the west coast, it's almost 11:30, and giving the business to some lameass from eBay who didn't send me the stuff I bought...he received payment via PayPal on the 25th, and now claims he had to wait for my "e check" to clear, so he won't be sending it for ANOTHER three days.
Should I demand remitance from eBay before I lose cable, and shank this hoser? I'm rather new at this...
