A Bit of Sad News

Post by TonyH »

I know that many of you here know of me and that I am an admin here on the board. Some may have noticed that I haven't been as active on the boards lately. A lot has been going on in my life and I would like to share that with all of you.

Over the past year or so I have been moving a bit with new jobs. Over the past year I've settled in Flagstaff AZ. Plans were to have my wife stay behind and while I got settled in she would would get the house ready for sale and move out this way. That didn't happen.

In February she started having flu like symptoms and after a few weeks of not being able to shake the "flu" she went to the hospital. She was diagnosed with low sodium levels which were caused by small cell lung cancer. The cancer was in the "extensive stage". The prognosis was poor. With treatment she might have as much as a year maybe a little more if all went well. It however didn't go well and she passed away on the morning of September 6th at her sister's house in Pinetop AZ. I had been driving out to spend the weekends with her and had seen her just a few days prior to her passing.

Tony,

I'm so so sorry that this happened to you and your family, most of all to your wife. I know that there isn't anything that anybody can say that will make the pain stop or even bring her back. But, at least you know that she isn't hurting anymore. My mother had the same thing and passed away in 09 so I kind of understand what you're going through. I know that losing a parent isn't like losing your partner, but they were lost to the same thing. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know.

Respectfully,

Chal

Best wishes Tony. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I've never got a chance to meet most of you all in person but I've felt a close bond to this community in the years I've been here and it sucks to hear anything bad happening to any of us.

I'm so sorry to hear. Cancer friggen sneaks up on people. I've known a few too many people who have had the same thing happen to them.

My sympathies Tony. Words are probably cold comfort right now. I can't begin to imagine the level of your loss. My thoughts are with you. If it helps to vent, feel free to vent brother. The least we can do is listen.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Just 3 months ago my father in law was taken by lung cancer. I am truly sorry for your loss.
