paintball can kill you

I AGREE THESE KIDS WERE CRAZY NUTS TO BE DOING THIS ON THE ROAD .

(HEAD LINE )Teen Killed in High-Speed Paintball Battle (HEAD LINE )
JENKS, Okla. (AP) - An SUV carrying high school football players having a paintball fight with teammates in another vehicle flew out of control on a highway and flipped, killing a 17-year-old boy, officials said.

The teens had just left a paintball adventure park Wednesday afternoon after meeting up other players and coaches from the Jenks High School football team, said Les Miller, manager of Paintball Adventure Games.

Seven of them were speeding down a highway in the two vehicles, shooting paintball pellets at each other, when the SUV crossed the median into oncoming traffic, struck a sign and then flipped several times, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Garrett Austin Bennett, 17, died on the highway outside Tulsa. Two other teenagers were treated for minor injuries and released from a hospital.

"I have seen a lot of horseplay over the past years, but I think this is the first time I have ever seen somebody playing paintball at 75 mph," said Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. Pete Norwood. "The highway is no place to play."

Results of an investigation into the crash will be turned over to prosecutors, who will determine whether any criminal charges will be filed.

Thank God??? No **** that..... thank god maybe this will be a lesson learned!!

You had nothing to do with them at the time so whats your opinion anyways. The kid who died "could" have been something special in the future, in turn though because of EVERYONEs decisions he became something to learn from.

Did you have anything to do with them Nomad? I dont see how your opinion is any different then his. Last time i checked everyone is entitled to their own opinion in these forums. And you might be the one who is taking that for granted.

Anyhow, mistakes in life are just something that happens. Yes, its a shame he died because they were being idiots. BUT, the real shame would be if nothing was learned from it.
Have no fear, the BEEF is here.

MANY young men under the age of 25ish do ALOT of very stupid things and sometimes one or more of them die in the process, often innocent people too. It's not a judgemental type thing, s**t happens.
Most times people DON'T learn from reading about others mistakes.
Most of us guys who've survived those years can remember either doing dumb things or seeing many others and can reflect at how lucky they were to survive.

As for doing dumb things in cars traveling at high speeds, I could tell a few stories too.

BTW, it's not really a paintball issue per-se either, paintball was just one of the many distractions that really shouldn't be done in vehicles at any time.

I would certainly feel comfortable with saying that I am happy that no one else, outside of the people being irresponsible, had to lose their life to their teenage stupidity.

Nothing gets me angry like someone that kills other people with their stupidity and irresponsibility...
