Newegg.com Rocks!

Post by Hipnotic_Tranz »

I've bought several things from them now (two hard drives, one motherboard, one CPU, a heatsink, etc) and all of it has gone smooth. Just recently I got a checking account through my parents, so I now have a debit card that I can use online. I just recieved one of my new hard drives and I only ordered it 3 days ago! Quick, easy, and great prices on refurb'ed items. Got two 40gig D740x Maxtor drives for $162 shipped (one refurb'ed) :D

Anybody else have any experiece with them? How was it?

Tried to order from them

Post by blackhawk »

Tried to order from them but they refused my cc because it was issued by a 'non US bank'!

Wasn't wise of them to put that on hard copy as I sent that to Visa Int'l and they confirm its illegal to refuse their card based on country/bank or whatever.

Very unhelpful when I tried to sort it out before turning over to Visa. Not very flexible but have a great site and selection of products.

Wish I could order.

Newegg.com is a good solid site. I recently ordered a USB 2.0 PCI Card & (1) Case Badge.
When I cheked out, the shipping came up to like ~$20.00 which I felt was Out of line. After I
questioned it, the sales dude at first gave me a canned response which didn't apply. I then replied and pointed out that he was wrong, he promptly issued me a credit of 50% of the original charge for shipping. That was cool that they actually checked it and not raped me for the original cost.

This is true but I never have much more money than is necessary to buy the item, in my account.

Positive experience here also =)
I ordered some rounded cables from them on Wednesday, they shipped them Thursday and I received them Yesterday. The thing is I only ordered the cheapest fedex shipping, yet I got them overnight. Great prices also, and unbeatable service.
Welcome to the machine.

Newegg has caused me a lot pain, sorrow and heartache. :( But being a part time idiot, I will buy from them again. The one thing I do not like about Newegg is you have to eat shipping on rma items. That ain't right.

Most places i've ran into d_b are like that... Now in your case they should have paid for shipping but if a part goes out i don't have much problem paying the shipping costs as long as i get "new" stuff back i hate refurbed garbage...
