When clicking on a link...

Post by Executioner »

in a topic, I leave PCA and go to the link. Is this normal behavior? I don't encounter any other site that does that, as it will always open in another tab. Using FF.

Yeah, we had another thread on it. It seems to be some kind of security feature in the BBS software. You can't disable it in the control panel - it's forced on you. I did find a workaround but it involves modifying some of the BBS code and frankly the thought terrifies me. It looked rather complicated.

Genom, our resident phpBB expert, was going to look at it but I suspect it started scaring him too, or he's been busy with other things.

I've gotten used to it - I now click links with the middle mouse button to force them to open on another tab. I've started doing that as a habit on all sites, since there's a few other sites I use that do that.

Actually, I just forgot about it to be honest. I'll poke at it this week.

Not a big deal. I was just curious. I'll right-click to open in a new tab.
