Got an email today saying a new user "NickCaputo" had joined the backup forum on Tapatalk. Is that anyone here? He has a fishy email address.
I never got an email asking me to authorize a new user, as I have the board configured, so I deactivated his account.
So when I checked in this morning I found a donation banner on the top of the forum(not sure if that's a hack or something Tapatalk does) and I found I couldn't log in as my user. Account didn't exist. I had to log into the old Forumer forum account and initiate a new transfer to a Tapatalk ID (I had already done this years ago) and then I could login as myself and admin.
So just in case, if you go to the backup forum, and there's a donation banner at the top, do not click on it. It's not me, and I have no idea where the money would go. I closed it but I'm not sure if it only closed for me.
I sent them a support request complaining about the donation banner.
The forum is here:

If you're login doesn't work and says your user doesn't exist, you may need to click the link to log into your Forumer account like I did (and if you don't know the password you can ask for a reset) and then transition to a Tapatalk ID. You can use the same one you had before.
I don't think we'll ever need the backup forum again, but who knows?

Yeah, donation window still there when I browsed the forum on another browser without logging in. Very fishy.

Okay, the donation banner is something Tapatalk adds. I've disabled it. It's only required if the forum is private and ours is not.

Nick Caputo was one of the first trolls to be listed on the "Traders to avoid" lists.

Yo, Robert! I'm just doing the same old thing. Working the daily grind. Fighting traffic through Everett 5 days a week.
