Re: Cryptocurrency exchange loses $137 million as founder takes passwords to the grave
Some folks have been examining the blockchain trail and are suspicious of the the story as presented. Another exchange asserts the Quadriga has thousand of wallets there. Paging prof. Ponzi. https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/nova-scotia/quadriga-mystery-deepens-with-little-evidence-of-cold-wallets-cont...

Interesting management/security problem, if the guy is actually dead. It might be a convenient way to solve problems, which apparently existed since $50 MM is tied up in "disputes".

Depends on what you need a wp for - all I need is something I can write letters /longer docs with and I use an ancient version of Wordperfect - X4 circa 2009. Runs fine under win10 . Paid about $20 for it somewhere about 10 years ago.

6k Americans walk over the bridge at Yuma AZ to Mexico for dental care
Makes sense if you think about it. Dental stuff is not cheap. I've read that insurance companies with pay for people with major stuff to fly to Thailand or wherever for major stuff rather than pay US prices. https://truthout.org/articles/millions-of-americans-flood-into-mexico-for-health-care/ Milli...

Re: Commerce Sec says unpaid fed workers should just get loans
It's not just fed employees. my neighbor temporarily relocated to the space coast last year because of a great job offer. After the feds (nasa, etc) shut down, he was basically furloughed for a time by his private employer. And what FP said - Cheeto had 2 years with a full majority to do this if it ...

Re: Commerce Sec says unpaid fed workers should just get loans
I don't really live paycheck to paycheck , but you get into a way a paying bills at a certain time. I just found out today that my state pension check will now arrive around the 25th instead of the 15th. I guess they are hoping not to pay anyone who dies before the end of the month.

Commerce Sec says unpaid fed workers should just get loans
from Bloomberg. U.S. Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross expressed bewilderment over unpaid federal workers who are seeking charity to feed themselves, saying they should be able to borrow money during the government shutdown. “I don’t really quite understand why,” Ross told CNBC in an interview on Thurs...

Re: ‘Order! Order!’: Parliament Speaker Is Brexit’s Surprise Star and Villain
At this point it's impossible to figure out who's on first with the Brits. Greenpeace did an interesting bit of research on the fishing, and much of the UK quota is leased out to other countries by a hndful of families who are known as "slipper skippers" since they don't need to leave the ...
