I just upgraded my main rig and the XPS 13. Working fine right now. Mostly feels the same as Win8 for me and I am fine with it. Only aggravation is being forced to update, but it isnt a huge issue. Still have my old Win8 image in case I decide to go back.

Maybe I am too cheap, but I just repurpose old Android phones to do this, since I have Bluetooth speakers around the house. Old HP tablet in the kitchen since the bigger screen is better for recipes, but old S3's in the living room and dining room for media playback. I get the phones usually for und...

Brightness is no problem with the display for me. It's mainly color that I feel is lackluster.

Welp, grabbed both a LG ultrawide and the Asus. Long and short of it, the ultrawide formfactor is really cool, but not for me. It's actually too wide for me. Color looks great, screen tearing is very noticeable on such a large display. Asus has all the pros everybody likes about it, and size is quit...

To be honest I am not that interested in Gsync-freesync stuff. I dont play FPS games much at all. Mostly WoW, KSP, anything that catches my fancy for a bit. I've lived with 60Hz long enough that when I saw a gsync display it didnt blow me away.

Oh and I dont see the IPS out yet on that monitor.

New Monitor?

So it's been a few years sicne I got a new monitor, and I am feeling the bug. I have a GTX970 so a 4K display isnt really ideal (mostly game on this machine, although I do work from home some), plus I dont want to deal with the scaling issues a lot of apps seem to have under 4K. I've been very tempt...

It's pricey, and not DD-WRT as far as I know, but I am loving my Asus AC-68R

There is a expanded firmware called merlin for it that enables more options, but even the stock has excellent control. Found it at target on sale for 160 bucks

I'm OK with it. I removed all the default trash and added my stuff that I usually have on my desktop as small tiles.

I've been toying with a clean install as well. No particular issue, but this install upgraded from my old MB to the new one under 8.1 and now Win10

Not exactly privacy related, but Win10 also uses a P2P scheme to help distribute ti's updates by default.
