Polygraphs measure physical manifestations of indications of nervousness (pulse, respiration, electrical conductuctance of you skin as well as other factors). It's much more sophisticated than this simple explanation, but essentially it's looking for involuntary signs of nervous. Most normal people ...

I'd feel REAL uncomfortable if the CPU fan was connected to anything but a power connector directly. You can lose all the case fans and as long as the fan on the CPU is running it'll still get hot, but at least you're not likely to fry the CPU.

It's why they're not admissable in court. Someone who's properly prepared can beat one. Also, a lie detector won't work on someone who truly believes he's not lying (like many pathological liars).

First of all you want to apply the latest update patch as there have been a lot of fixes to multiplay since the original release. No you don't need a dedicated server. Just start the game, go to Multiplayer (it's the door on the right side of the Ready Room) configure your settings (player name, con...

What version of Windows? If it's ME or XP (doubt you're running XP on that thing) you can make a restore point before installing the driver, and go back to if if it goes badly. If it's 95 or 98 the best thing to do - if you have a copy of it and a spare drive or CD burner - is to make an image backu...

Are you using an Nvidia card on your P4 system with the refresh rate fix? BF 1942 won't run on a Geforce if you're using the refresh rate fix on it. There's a fix for it in the 1.1 patch BUT you have to change a setting in one of the .CON files. The info is in the 1.1 patch readme: -Fixed refresh ra...

This is a Radeon or a Geforce?

Total shot in the dark:

- AGP clock multiplier set wrong?

- You might be right about PSU - vid card draws a lot of current.

- Is this an overclocked system? Have you tried it without overclocking?

- Makes sure the AGP Aperature in BIOS is set to 64.

Radeon 9000 64Mb w/TV out (OEM) $65 w/free shipping

I'm not a Radeon fan, but I'm told that this is a pretty good deal.

I've never dealt with the company though - you should check their User Evals.

I'd just format it. No one needs to know. The guy will probably resent being told by someone younger that he f@cked up. You also don't need anyone implying you might have looked at that data. Just wipe it and if anyone mentions it, you formatted the drive as soon as you got it and you have no idea w...

Well Doom3 will be more of my kind of game I hope. UT 2003 is fun but it's a bit too fast paced and frantic. Weapons are better than UT but they still suck. Only really useful guns in my opinion are the missile launcher and the green energy weapon. And WTF is with these Adrenaline moves? Anyone have...

Cheap cases have sharp edges. Fact of life. I can't tell you how often I get sliced doing repair work. Some of these things are razor sharp. I would recommend you put some tape over any sharp edges. Scotch tape will do. Run it lengthwise across the edge and fold it over it liek you would if you were...

I don't believe in coincidences. I'd suspect maybe you knocked something loose (CPU, heatsink, card, power cable?) while mucking around in there or (God forbid) you dropped some small metalic particle on the mobo. Try blowing the whole thing off and checking everything.
