A new version of this excellent utility has been released. You can get it at: http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html for those that ever heard of Spywareblaster: SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed. By setting a "kill bit&quo...

Well, I have 3 kids: 18½ yr boy, 17 yr girl, and my opps girl at 8. When they were small, I would spank them in the rear for safety or discipline. It was done to me by my parents, and I do the same to mine. When they get older, say 8 or so, spanking does not work that much, so I use the Vulcan death...

I'm on the pc quite a bit now since I spend 6hr/day at work on the pc doing reports or answering emails with people within our company. I then go home and spend another 2-3 hours on line gaming or downloading stuff. I rarely watch TV anymore unless there is a good movie without commercials or a foot...

Well, I don't have a swap file, even though I let windows manage the memory. When I defrag, Diskeeper will show you the location of the swap file in yellow, and I do not have any yellow blocks because I have a lot of ram installed. If I remove this setting, then windows creates a ~30 meg swap file f...

Well Jim, I've always used this setting because I was running Win98 with 128 megs of ram and the setting is still there. My understanding of this setting (from the Win95 days) is if Win98 needs to write to the swap file, it waits until most of your ram is full. Since I now have 512, I don't have any...

I'm running Win98 with 512 megs of ram, and I have this setting in the system.ini file: [386Enh] ConservativeSwapfileUsage=1 This setting forces Win98 to use real ram first before the swap file. Works great. For XP, I would think that allowing XP to manage it would probably be best. Like FP suggeste...
