Re: Bitlocker on Windows 11 Home

Nope. Pro only. You can use Vera crypt: https://www.veracrypt.fr/en/Home.html Just be aware, it will take a while to initially encrypt the part of the drive that has data on it. Everything on the drive has to be read and then saved encrypted. It could take several hours. Best done over night. Make s...

Re: New Freeware Detects Fake USB Drives with Inflated Capacity

Steve's also come across non scam flash drives that just aren't very good quality.

I tend to buy good sticks, but some stick I have are pretty old so I tested them all.

Re: New Freeware Detects Fake USB Drives with Inflated Capacity

They are all over Amazon. Usually silly shit like a 6TB USB SSD for $30. People have bought them knowing they were scams, cracking them open on YouTube, and finding nothing inside but a 64GB SD card connected to a USB card reader, with the firmware hacked to make the card look like a 6TB drive. It w...

Re: Well Comcast talked me into upgrading my bandwidth...

After a few days is actually bumped up to 950 down on it's own and stayed there. No one ever showed up. I had to contact tech support via online chat to get the phone line enabled, but I only use that as a fax line.

It's officially dead now. Activation servers for 10 & 11 will no longer take a Win7 key.

I will mention that I had an issue with this and uninstalled it. It was causing a stutter in games when looking up quickly.

Re: New Freeware Detects Fake USB Drives with Inflated Capacity

Steve's been talking about this a lot on the podcast lately. In the process of working with beta testers on Spinrite 6.1, testers were discovering a lot of defective, or totally fake USB drives. So he decided to spin off a utility off that. Going to run this on my drawer of USB flash drives. I don't...

Re: Satisfactory

Another update. My third play thru. I am now very near the end game again. I have gone totally OCD, replacing all the haphazard belts with a more organized system, and labeling and color coding everything so I can figure out what's what if I return to the game later when 1.0 is released, which will ...
