Re: Specs for a tentative 2021 Gaming PC Build
That's the case my 3900x is in. Cheap and easy to route the wiring. I tend to get performance RAM in general and then go conservative on the timings. I am picky about the voltage that they state those timings are though. Nothing worse than having RAM that is unstable until you up the voltage, but yo...

I've found that painters are less than reliable as well.

Re: condo project for 2020
I'm officially done with contractors. I've had to work with about 5 of them in the last 6 months and not a single one was straight forward. Even though a few of them were well known companies. I'd rather do the work myself. Speaking of which, I just spent the day painting... week in fact.

Re: New Java Minecraft snapshot 20w45a
It's amazing how much they keep adding to that game. Honestly, it's hard to even keep track any more. I play it over LAN with my daughter every few months in a world she started when she was about 7.

Re: condo project for 2020
That sucks. That's part of the reason we never did our kitchen while we were in the house. I was terrified that it would be 6 months before I got it back together.

Re: SFF (re)build recommendations
A Micro-ATX board wouldn't fit in there, ITX only. SFF isn't technically a standard. But I know what you're looking for. The SFX power supplies aren't much smaller in my opinion. If everything I owned wasn't in boxes currently, I'd take a pic. The power supply does take up about 50% of the case. It ...

If everything I owned wasn't in boxes currently, I'd take a pic. The power supply does take up about 50% of the case. It uses a Mini ITX motherboard. Yeah, there are smaller cases out there, but shoebox is about the right size for me. It's a lot like this one: https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-RC...

Re: SFF (re)build recommendations
I actually own one that is SFF, but with an ATX PSU. Unfortunately, it was designed with a DVD drive in mind and thus killed what could have been a great design. The reason I want the ATX PSU is mainly due to cost. The SFX ones are like 2x for the same capacity.

I'm tracking right along with you. Finally got my cabinets back in a week ago, installed a backsplash, and now I'm installing laminate. I can finally see the end of the tunnel.

It's actually a really good show. I wasn't convinced at first, but it just kept getting better.

My first brushless experience is a Chinese copy of a Makita impact. Works pretty well so far.

I'm interested too. For me, I want to know a nice SFF case that uses standard ATX power supplies.

Re: Book recommendation: "We Are Legion (We Are Bob)"
I just got the first audiobook for my birthday a while back. Haven't had time to take a listen yet. The creepy thing is that I was just talking to my friend about this series a couple hours ago. Guess I need to hurry up and get to it.
